Construction Notice: Speed hump installation
This spring, the City of Victoria will install speed humps on three streets in the Jubilee neighbourhood to
support the safety and comfort of all road users (see enclosed map). Traffic calming speed humps will be
installed on the 1500 block of Bank and Fell Streets, bordering Sundance-Bank Elementary School. On
Leighton Rd, between Bank and Fort St, new speed humps will be installed plus an existing speed hump
will be updated to new speed hump specifications.
Work is expected to start in coming weeks and is weather dependent, which can affect project schedule
and duration. Residents and commuters can expect some noise and odor from asphalt installation,
temporary parking and traffic restrictions, machinery and safety equipment on the street.
All efforts will be made to minimize disruptions during construction while maintaining safety for workers,
residents, and commuters. Pedestrian, bicycle and local vehicle access will be maintained while work is
underway.
Reminder: Always be prepared to follow the direction of signs and crews around work sites.
