Redfern Commons Work Party – Saturday, April 11

April 6, 2026

This Saturday April 11th, from 10am till 12pm, we will be having another Redfern Commons work party. All are welcome and no experience is necessary.

Come join in with getting started on planting some first spring seeds in the raised vegetable beds, as well as keeping up with some ongoing weeding, tidying, and other general maintenance. This is also a great chance to come and learn about what you can plant in your own garden right now!

As always there will be all the tools you need, as well as some pastries and refreshments.

Notice of Road Work on Richmond Ave.

Oct 2, 2025

Starting in October, the city will be working on pedestrian safety improvements on Richmond Avenue, between Oak Shade Lane and Quamichan Street. These upgrades include a new crosswalk with flashing lights on Richmond Ave. at Oak Shade Ln. and continuous sidewalk crossings of Oak Shade Ln. and Quamichan St. along Richmond Avenue.

This project is expected to be complete in Winter 2026. To ensure the safety of crew members, pedestrians and cyclists, this section of Richmond Road will be closed for the duration of the project. There will also be limited on-street parking, sidewalk detours, construction-related noise, dust, odours and debris.

There will be signage posted to show the road closures and detour routes.
